FUCK ME/KILL ME BOOK
(2024)
«Fuck me is a heart-rending, irreverent and direct work. Theatre made from pain, searching for the light that is born from the destruction of oneself, from knowing that every act of mockery of one's own is also the desire to be loved, to be consoled. A narrow, solitary path. A path that Marina Otero shows us from the distance of a broken, adult person, who looks back at her childhood when she danced and choreographed at her grandfather's house and looks at herself now after so many wars, so many years offering herself on stage, of suicide attempts, of fighting against everything, of having hated what was easy and kind as if they were betrayals. A path that, at the same time that it shows the strength of rage, has the shameless capacity to say at a moment: ?Look how I am. I became hard and not from drugs, this is pure tension from the effort of wanting to please. The only thing I want is for them to love me, because I don't love myself?». Pablo Caruana
Kill me is the continuation of Fuck me. Entering into the cliché of the midlife crisis, I began to film everything I did: with my heart open 24 hours a day, I recorded everything. Until one day I collapsed, I was given a psychiatric diagnosis and I decided to make my next work out of that. I called four dancers with mental disorders and Nijinsky, to make a work that talks about madness for love. But let's say that the subject is about mental health so that it enters the inclusive agenda of the art market. Because that is my condemnation, having to make works that sell and thus stay alive in the world (of theater). Marina Otero
